Adverse Reaction Reports Filed with the US FDA: There have been 1,120 adverse reactions reported to the US FDA in connection with Adderall.

The FDA estimates that less than 1% of all serious events are ever reported to it, so the actual number of side effects occurring are most certainly higher.

These include:

  • 104 cases of suicidal ideation/behavior (completed suicides, suicide attempts)
  • 79 cases of aggression
  • 72 cases of insomnia
  • 60 cases of depression
  • 76 cases of abnormal behavior
  • 61 cases of anxiety
  • 55 cases of agitation
  • 47 cases of “feeling abnormal”
  • 58 cases of hallucinations
  • 48 cases of increased heart rate
  • 74 cases of psychotic disorder/psychosis
  • 44 cases of convulsion
  • 45 cases of dizziness
  • 30 cases of death/sudden death
  • 27 cases of mania
  • 19 cases of self-harm (self-injurious ideation/behavior)
  • 19 cases of homicide/homicidal ideation
  • 7 cases of physical assault/abuse
  • 5 cases of hostility
